Live Music Information

To our Customers:

Many of you have asked what is happening with our live music schedule. This is a quick note to explain the current conditions, which we are working under.

Over the last six months we have proudly supported live local music. We have done our best to foster the creativity, drive, and independent spirit of the artist.

Recently we have been contacted by the big three music licensing and copyright companies. While a majority of these licensing companies carry the best interest of musicians we are finding that others do not.

We have been asked to join one of these "unions" which not only charge for use of a songs copyright but for other things like "dancing to live music" or "using a TV or radio" on the premises.

We are proud to support the copyright holders and musicians but refuse to pay for items which are simply personal freedoms and enjoyments (i.e. dancing). Therefore, beginning June 15th we will no longer have live music Sunday through Thursday.

While we are on this hiatus we will continue to research alternatives such as original compositions or using songs which are strictly licensed through the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers.

We plan to continue to foster live music and musicians in the following months and hope to have a resolution by September 1, 2008.

Thanks for your support of live music!
